Competition Preparation – Mental Skills for Game Day
Competition preparation takes foundational mental/emotional skills and applies them to live competitions. Competition preparation teaches performers how to establish effective mental routines and rituals before, during and after competitive events. Understanding how and when to do these routines is a crucial part of getting the mindset of the performer in the right place. This course includes channeling live competitive reactions and how to more clearly execute those patterns and tactics that are apart of their game plan. Mindset training is a continual process that requires patience, consistency and practice. Learning how to conduct post performance assessments is an important aspect of competition preparation. This course will help athletes identify momentum shifts, lost opportunities as well as positive growth that occurred during each competitive event. Objectives will be set for upcoming competitive events with action items to work on prior to those events.
